Why Six Zero

Why Pickleball Lab
Chooses Six Zero

A Raw Carbon Pioneer
Six Zero adopted uncoated, raw carbon faces ahead of the rest of the industry. The surface texture grips the ball directly, producing a level of spin and a distinctive feel you won't find anywhere else.
Fast-Moving Innovation
Although it's a young brand founded in 2020, its pace of developing proprietary materials and new shapes is among the fastest in the industry. Its strength is a development process that quickly turns player feedback into products.
Authorized Dealer Quality Guarantee
We sell only genuine products sourced directly from Six Zero headquarters. Unlike gray-market (parallel-import) products, initial defect handling, local support and warranty service are all taken care of within Japan.

The Choice to Go Uncoated:
"Raw Carbon"

While many paddle makers paint or coat their faces, Six Zero deliberately chose not to. On a Raw Carbon face, the carbon fiber weave is exposed right at the surface, creating powerful friction against the ball.

This approach of making the most of the material's natural surface has had a major influence on the industry and has become the very core of Six Zero's identity. The sound and feel at impact are also different from coated paddles, and many Six Zero players say that once you try it, there's no going back.

Why Players Choose
the Flagship "Black Opal"

The "Black Opal," practically synonymous with Six Zero, combines the Diamond Tough Surface (Raw Carbon), the G4 Aerospace Solid Foam Core and a patent-pending Power Gel Layer to deliver outstanding spin, power and control. Competitive players and aspiring pros around the world often say, "Once you use this, you can't go back to anything else."

The core is designed at 14mm thick to strike the optimal balance between power and control. Shock Shield technology built into the handle reduces strain on the elbow and wrist during long sessions.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about Six Zero paddles.

Are Raw Carbon faces durable?+
Some people assume that because Raw Carbon has no paint, the surface wears out easily. However, the "Diamond Tough Surface" Six Zero uses features durable texture technology, and under normal use its durability is on par with or better than other brands' carbon paddles. Even advanced players who play three to four times a week often use them for more than a year without any problems.
How do the shapes (Hybrid / Elongated / Widebody) differ?+
In Six Zero's current lineup, the Coral 16mm is available in all three shapes. Hybrid is a balanced shape that's easy to use all around, and we recommend it for beginner to intermediate players. Elongated is longer, offering better reach and spin, and is aimed at intermediate to advanced players. Widebody is wider with a larger sweet spot, making it a good fit for players who want to minimize errors or beginners who want extra forgiveness. The Black Opal 14mm, Double Black Diamond and Ruby Pro are competition models that come in a single shape.
Should I choose a 14mm or a 16mm core?+
The 14mm cores (Black Opal / Double Black Diamond / Ruby Pro) are power-oriented, suited to explosive rebound and aggressive play. The 16mm core (Coral) excels in stability and control all over the court, making dink battles and reset shots easier. If you prioritize control or you're new to the sport, start with the Coral 16mm; if attacking power is your priority, we recommend a 14mm model.
How does Six Zero compare with Engage?+
The biggest differences are core construction and face treatment. Most Engage models pair a polymer honeycomb core with a Raw Carbon face (the X2 and ProFoam use foam cores), while Six Zero is centered on foam cores, as in the Black Opal and Coral, paired with its Raw Carbon–based "Diamond Tough Surface." Six Zero has a firmer feel at impact, with the "solid" feel and distinctive sound that only a foam core delivers. Both offer industry-leading spin, and Six Zero's Diamond Tough Surface is infused with diamond particles so its texture lasts longer. Players usually choose based on their play style and personal preference.
Can beginners use Six Zero paddles?+
Yes, but we recommend learning the basics with an entry-level paddle from another brand (such as the Engage Encore Pro) first, and then stepping up to Six Zero. Six Zero's Sapphire and Quartz are positioned as entry-level models, and Pickleball Lab carries both. If you'd like to start with Six Zero, choose one of these two; for beginner to intermediate players who want a fuller Raw Carbon experience, we recommend the Double Black Diamond.
