The SLK Dauntless is the flagship of the three new paddles in Selkirk's SLK line. Selkirk is a pickleball specialist brand from the United States.

What defines it is SoloCore, a one-piece molded PureFoam core. Only foam gives you this kind of soft touch, and it lets you sit the ball on the face and place it exactly where you want. On dinks at the kitchen line, or on resets against pace, the face seems to hold the ball for a split second. That is the strength of a foam core.

The hitting surface is genuine T700 raw carbon, so even a control-first paddle bites the ball for real spin (spin rating 9/10). Place the ball, stay patient, move your opponent, then finish the instant the gap opens up — if that is how you build a point, this is the paddle I would want you to look at first.

The Dauntless comes in two shapes: Widebody and Elongated. The Widebody has a wider face and a bigger sweet spot, so it suits players who want to place the ball with stability. The Elongated is longer overall for more reach and power, which also covers the attacking exchanges up front. Both use a 16mm core.

The core, SoloCore, is a new construction that molds PureFoam as a single piece (patent pending). The foam itself is what creates that soft touch. IsoFlex cutouts around the perimeter lift the rebound while absorbing unwanted vibration. On top of that, the MOI Tuning System lets you adjust the weight balance, and raising the moment of inertia keeps off-center hits from twisting the face. The softness of a foam core and the bite of raw carbon living on the same face is exactly what the Dauntless feels like in your hand.
