The VANGUARD Power Air S2 is the power line from Selkirk, the American pickleball specialist brand. Of the three Vanguard shapes (S2 / Epic / Invikta), the S2 is the widest, with the largest sweet spot. Its shorter handle and head-light balance make it unusually easy to move for a power paddle — aggressive, but still manageable. If you want power and stability at the same time, the S2 is the first paddle I point you to.

Four layers of drive | QuadFlex hybrid face

The hitting surface stacks two layers of fiberglass (Fiberflex) with two layers of Quantum+ carbon into a QuadFlex 4-layer construction. Layering stiffness and flex together is what generates the power that drives the ball through. 360° Proto Molding then evens out the response across the whole face. Power paddles usually fall off sharply the moment you miss the center, but the S2 has enough face that slightly off-center contact still carries — which is why hitting hard and staying stable are not a trade-off here.

Inside the Power Air S2

The core is 13mm of SuperCore polymer honeycomb. A thinner core reacts fast and puts bite on the ball. The Air Dynamic Throat cuts air resistance so the swing starts light, and the Aero-DuraEdge edgeless construction extends the usable hitting area right out to the frame. The surface is a ProSpin+ NextGen micro-texture, so you can go after spin as well.
